Because it is modular in every respect (functions, I/O hardware, and interfaces), the KS 98-1 is not only
perfectly suited for demanding, interlinked control loops, but also for simpler measurement & control tasks.
During development, special attention was given to customized operating concepts in the user's language that
every operator understands.
The user is supported by an Engineering Tool (ET/KS 98) that permits simple and clear graphical integration of function blocks selected from a comprehensive library. Another useful tool is the PC-based simulation package SIM/KS 98 that enables the controller's functions and operation to be tested on an individually adaptable control loop. Moreover, the BlueControl® configuration tool - well-known from PMA's BluePort® controller range - provides clear, on-site parameter adjustment of the individually configured KS 98-1 to suit the control task on hand. The "day & night" display of the KS 98-1 is bright and clear under all lighting conditions. For example, event-driven switchover is possible for the background colour (red/green) and the display mode (normal/inverse). Master/slave control, programmer, and other demanding control modes can be combined with logic operations, whereby user-defined graphics and messages in plain text provide visualization and ensure safe, confident operation. Thanks to cost-effective I/O extensions via CANopen field bus, and the integration of process management systems via PROFIBUS-DP, the compact universal genius KS 98-1 opens up new possibilities for decentralized automation. |
