Material coating
KS 90-1 application
Prevention of material overheating

Description
For the coating of steel components, the
coating material, which is viscous at
room temperature, must be heated or liquefied
to enable it to be processed.
Similarly, to ensure a good bond with the
coating, the product to be coated must
also be heated to a suitable temperature.
The basic technical problems hereby are
the wide range of composite materials,
different surfaces (soft, rough, smooth),
or quite general such as coating materials
with different properties than the substrate,
or the application of protective
films (e.g. resin or wax).
For the coating procedure itself, as well
as to protect the substrate material, the
temperature of the latter must be maintained
very precisely and may not be exceeded
under any circumstances.
